The Minister for Trade and Industry, the Hon Peter Montegriffo and the Deputy Governor, Mr Michael Robinson, leave for Brussels for a two day visit on Wednesday to hold discussions with the European Commission on the SDP (Single Programming Document) to cover the period 1997-99.
They will be accompanied by the DTI's Commercial Director, Mr Francis Sheriff.
This programme forms the basis of EU funded assistance which has been extended to Gibraltar for this period and which involves 5 million ECUs and which is complemented by matching funds from the Government of Gibraltar.
The main features of the programme focus on development of tourism and small and medium sized busuiness aimed at creating growth and employment.
Meetings in Brussels are designed to win the Commission's approval on the details of the programme which Government previously forwarded in August this year for the Commission's comments and endorsments.
