It was a demonstration for the old people, who turned out in force.

It was a demonstration for the children, who came on foot and on wheels.

It was an event that everyone came to, including the workers that the MoD tried to discourage from participating.

Peter Hain in London commented that "The Government of Gibraltar Lacks Leadership" however, Peter Caruana called for the people of Gibraltar to take to the streets and almost EVERYONE did.

For the first time there was live TV coverage of the event by the international media, including the BBC and SKY.

These pictures cannot convey the scale of the largest event that has ever taken place in Gibraltar, and one which passed off without damage to property or injury.

You just had to be there.
